Kate Kelly, PNC Bank Regional President, Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 30, 2017 – PNC Bank, N. A. has named Kate Kelly as regional president as it expands its market presence in the Twin Cities region.

In late 2016, PNC announced plans to expand its efforts in the area by introducing its local leadership model and hiring additional employees to serve large and middle market companies. Today’s announcement further increases PNC’s presence and commitment to the Twin Cities region. PNC currently has a Minneapolis office for its Harris Williams & Co. subsidiary.

“The Twin Cities metropolitan area is an attractive market for PNC with a strong base of corporate clients and a thriving community,” said Lou Cestello, PNC executive vice president.  “The region continues to be a bright spot for job growth and there is significant opportunity for PNC to support that growth with the delivery of corporate banking services.”

Kelly brings more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry to PNC, most recently serving as president and chief executive officer of Minnesota Bank & Trust, a bank she founded in 2008.  She also served as regional president of Bremer Financial and worked at U.S. Bank for 18 years, most recently as district manager in corporate banking. Kelly serves on several boards in the Twin Cities, including the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, ServeMinnesota and ServeMinnesota Education Foundation and Reading & Math, Inc. She is a member of the Chapter One, Minnesota Women’s Presidents Organization and the Economic Club of Minnesota.

Kelly holds a master’s degree in finance from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and received her bachelor’s degree in economics and humanities from St. Catherine University in St. Paul.  She was recently awarded the Twin Cities Business Women’s Leadership Award.

PNC will soon announce a local head of Corporate Banking and a client and community relations director who will lead local philanthropic and community initiatives.
