The University of Pittsburgh's Katz Graduate School of Business showcased its new look today with the dedication of the new PNC Team Technology Center, supported by the largest single gift in the history of The PNC Financial Services Group.

The ceremonies, attended by more than 200 people, were led by Mark Nordenberg, chancellor, University of Pittsburgh; James E. Rohr, chairman, president and chief executive officer of The PNC Financial Services Group; and Frederick W. Winter, dean, Katz Graduate School of Business. The ribbon- cutting ceremony was followed by tours of the new team meeting rooms, classrooms and library. Three informative sessions on e-business and entrepreneurship were hosted by Katz faculty and PNC representatives.

"The dedication of this very impressive facility further solidifies an already strong relationship that combines financial support and human capital for the benefit of this University and our region," Rohr said. "With this focus on technology, we are helping to equip these students with resources and knowledge that will help them to drive change throughout the 21st century."

The PNC Team Technology Center is the first major renovation of 18-year-old Mervis Hall, complete with new classrooms, streamlined library facilities and 18 new team meeting rooms dedicated solely to MBA teams. This impressive center at what many consider the nation's most innovative business school is being supported by The PNC Foundation's largest-ever single cash gift ($1 million) and in-kind contribution ($300,000 worth of technology consulting from Chief Information Officer Tim Shack and his team).

"This new facility will help students work together in high performance teams, which is the way the business world works today," Winter said. "It's a gift and a facility like this that helps us bring real world education to our students."

PNC, the University of Pittsburgh and Katz School, ranked among U.S. News and World Report's Top 50 Business Schools for full-time programs, have an extensive relationship beyond the PNC Team Technology Center. It involves financial support in other areas along with executive level support from PNC's Jim Rohr, Walter Gregg, Sy Holzer and Tom O'Brien among others. PNC, at the same time, employs about 200 Katz graduates.

The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: PNC), headquartered in Pittsburgh, is one of the nation's largest diversified financial services organizations, providing regional community banking, corporate banking, real estate finance, asset-based lending, wealth management, asset management and global fund services.
