The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: PNC) today announced the appointment of Deborah Hope Wedgeworth as Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for the corporation. Her appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
Wedgeworth, 45, will join the company October 1 and will report to John J. Wixted, Jr., chief regulatory officer. She will be responsible for corporate compliance risk management strategies, policies and program development across all PNC business units, including PNC Bank, National Association. This will include development of a centralized compliance risk management framework and architecture while maintaining the principle of business accountability for ensuring adherence to all legal and regulatory compliance requirements, working with regulatory agencies on compliance matters, and implementing compliance awareness programs and training.
Wedgeworth has held a number of senior legal positions related to financial institutions risk management and governance. Most recently, she served as chief counsel of Global Compliance for Citigroup. Prior to that she was vice president and managing director of Audit and Risk Review, Legal and Compliance for Citicorp/Citibank, N.A. and was an attorney with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

Wedgeworth has a law degree from The Georgetown University Law Center and a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College. She currently chairs the American Bar Association's Banking Law Subcommittee on Compliance, Audit and Examination. She is also a past chair of the National Bar Association's Task Force on Banking.
