The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: PNC) today announced plans to name John J. Wixted, Jr. to the newly-created position of Chief Regulatory Officer.

Wixted is expected to join PNC August 1, subject to regulatory approval. Reporting to PNC Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer James E. Rohr, Wixted will be responsible for the management of all issues related to regulatory affairs and compliance.
Wixted, 51, comes to PNC from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, where he has been a Senior Vice President for Banking Supervision and Regulation, responsible for the supervision and regulation of more than 1,000 financial institutions in the Seventh Federal Reserve District. Prior to that, Wixted held several key leadership positions with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, including Examiner, Director of Banking and Supervision, and Senior Vice President for Supervision and Regulation, Credit Risk Management, and Data Services.
