PITTSBURGH, Oct. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: PNC) today appointed Gregory B. Jordan general counsel and head of Regulatory and Government Affairs, and named him to the Executive Committee, effective October 15, 2013. Jordan joins PNC from Reed Smith LLP, where he is global managing partner and chairman of the Senior Management Team and Executive Committee.

Jordan joined Reed Smith after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1984, and he was elected the firm's managing partner five times. In 13 years of leading Reed Smith, Greg helped quadruple its size to 1,800 lawyers in 25 offices on three continents, and positioned it as a model among law firms for professional development, diversity and strong client relationships. In 2003, American Lawyer named him as one of the country's top 45 lawyers under 45. In 2005, The Lawyer named him to the Global 100 list of most influential lawyers, and he has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 1995. In 2012, Law 360 named him as one of the Ten Most Innovative Managing Partners.
He serves on the boards of Highmark Inc., the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, the Global Business Coalition on Education, and the Extra Mile Foundation. He is chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bethany College, from which he received his bachelor's degree.
