DETROIT, Mich., Feb. 10, 2022 – PNC Bank announced that Ric DeVore will retire as regional president for Detroit and Southeast Michigan effective March 31 after a 31-year career with the bank. Succeeding him will be long-time executive Michael G. Bickers, who will return to Detroit after serving as PNC’s retail banking market manager, and most recently, Midwest territory executive, in Chicago since 2018.

DeVore was the bank’s regional president for the past 12 years, during which time he successfully led PNC’s banking and charitable activities in Southeast Michigan while helping grow PNC’s presence and brand across the region.

Since joining PNC in 1991, DeVore has held a number of leadership positions, primarily in the credit and marketing groups. During the integration of National City Bank, he served as chief credit officer with overall responsibility for the credit risk management organization. In 2001, he was named executive vice president.

An active member of the Detroit and Southeast Michigan community, DeVore serves on the board of directors of Business Leaders for Michigan, Cranbrook Educational Community, Detroit Economic Club, Detroit Regional Chamber, Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Priority Health. In addition, he serves on the advisory board for The Education Trust-Midwest.

“We are grateful for Ric’s tremendous leadership and accomplishments at PNC over the span of his career,” said Scott Swanson, PNC Office of the Regional Presidents Midwest territory executive. “Ric has been deeply involved in the community and has used his extensive experience and passion for giving back in service of others, both inside and outside the bank. He has been a tireless advocate for our clients, employees, as well as the greater Southeast Michigan community, and I know he will continue to use his voice to affect positive change, just as he did every day at PNC.”

Bickers, who grew up on Detroit’s east side, has held several leadership positions since joining PNC in 1990, including key roles in commercial and retail banking. He served as retail market manager for Detroit from 2006 to 2018. Bickers earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance and Master’s of Business Administration from Oakland University in Rochester. He is a graduate of Highland Park High School.

“Mike is the perfect leader to succeed Ric,” Swanson said. “His commitment to clients and deep ties to the local community, coupled with his dedication to his colleagues, will play a critical role in creating positive outcomes for the entire region.”
