JACKSONVILLE, Fla., April 18, 2023 – PNC Bank recently appointed key market leadership positions across the bank’s lines of business in North Florida. The new leadership team is responsible for driving growth, providing customers and clients access to PNC’s industry-leading technology, and introducing a full range of innovative products and capabilities.

The group of four leaders has more than 100 combined years of industry experience. Each was selected for their ability to drive and develop high-performing teams, while achieving strong results in the market. The newly appointed leaders include:
Benny Gonzalez, head of PNC Corporate Banking for North and South Florida
As the leader for PNC Corporate Banking efforts in North and South Florida, Gonzalez is responsible for a team of professionals around the state who are charged with delivering sophisticated banking and advisory solutions to companies with annual revenue greater than $50 million. A 25-year veteran of the banking industry, Gonzalez was the head of Corporate Banking for PNC in South Florida before being promoted to his current role. He received his bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and an MBA from the University of Florida Warrington College of Business.
Jim Richardson, head of PNC Commercial Banking for North Florida
Based in Jacksonville, Richardson will lead PNC Commercial Banking teams in Jacksonville and Gainesville as they build and maintain relationships with companies and institutions with annual revenue of $5 million to $50 million. Richardson’s 33-year banking career includes broad leadership roles across business banking, commercial banking, and market executive leadership in the North Florida region. In his previous role, Richardson was charged with establishing a new eastern U.S. business development relationship team focused on real estate and commercial banking business. Richardson earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Roland Plymill, head of PNC Business Banking for North Florida
Plymill is a 19-year business and commercial banking veteran. As PNC Business Banking manager for North Florida, Plymill is charged with providing solutions to businesses with annual revenue of $1 million to $5 million. Before his current position, Plymill spent time developing and honing his business banking skills in Jacksonville and Washington state. He most recently served as the senior Emerging Business Banking relationship manager. Plymill earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University.
Kelley Matthews, head of PNC Private Banking for North Florida
Matthews has been appointed as the North Florida leader for PNC Private Bank. In her role, Matthews will oversee a team responsible for the delivery of a full range of wealth management solutions — from credit and cash management products to long-term investment and estate planning, as well as wealth preservation and philanthropic strategies — for high and ultra-high net worth clients. Matthews is a 25-year veteran of the banking and wealth management industry, and she has served in senior roles at several leading institutions. She received her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oswego. She also holds a Master of Business Administration.
