Veteran banker Joseph G. Meterchick to retire after 45-year career
PHILADELPHIA, PA, June 1, 2026 – PNC Bank announced the appointment of Brian Vesey as the new regional president for Philadelphia, Delaware and Southern New Jersey (PDSJ). Vesey succeeds Joseph G. Meterchick who is retiring from PNC after a 45-year career at the bank.
“Brian is an experienced leader with deep roots in this market and a strong track record of delivering for clients,” said Laura Gamble, PNC Northeast territory executive. “He is well positioned to build on the strong foundation and success Joe helped us establish throughout the region.”
Vesey currently serves as executive vice president and Corporate Banking market executive in PDSJ. He began his career with PNC in 1994 through the acquisition of Midlantic Bank and has held a variety of leadership roles, including Middle Market relationship manager, Large Corporate relationship manager and the market leader responsible for Corporate Banking in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties.
“Having spent my career with PNC, including many years in this market, it’s a privilege to take on this role,” said Vesey.
Meterchick will retire Aug. 7 following a distinguished 45-year career in banking, all with PNC and its legacy institutions. He has held a range of leadership roles across corporate banking, capital markets and business credit, including leading major business segments in PDSJ. He later established and led PNC’s Florida West market before returning home in 2016 to serve as regional president for PDSJ, where he has focused on strengthening client relationships and the bank’s presence across the region.
“Joe has built a strong, client-focused business,” Vesey said. “I’m excited to carry that forward by continuing to deliver for our clients, building the PNC brand and supporting the community and our region’s long-term economic growth.”
